INSTRUMENTAL STUDIES IN ENGLISH FOR FOREIGNERS

The Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz is a state-owned, university-level school of music and artistic education institution training highly qualified instrumentalists, vocalists, composers, music theorists, sound engineers, music teachers and instructors, and vocal and vocalinstrumental ensemble conductors. Upon graduation our students receive the Graduation Diploma and are awarded the degrees of licencjat(BA/ B.Mus.-equivalent), magister (MA/ M.Mus.-equivalent) and doktor sztuki (Polish for Doctor of Musical Art). We cooperate with a number of music institutions, academies, universities and conservatoires, in Poland and abroad.

In the academic year 2015/2016 we start new programmes in English intended for foreign graduates of first-cycle music studies. The Faculty of Instrumental Music offers 2nd-cycle (M.Mus.-equivalent degree) studies in English in the following specializations:

– Keyboard Instruments: Piano, Harpsichord, Organ, Accordion;

– String Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass;

– Wind Instruments: Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpet, Trombone;

– Percussion;

– Guitar;

– Early Music Instruments: Lute, Baroque Oboe, Baroque (Traverso) Flute, Baroque Violin, Baroque Viola, Baroque Cello, Natural Trumpet.

Candidates wishing to study in English should register at the same time as candidates applying for study programmes in Polish as they will be subject to the same qualification procedure. The recruitment criteria will be the same regardless of the language in which the courses will be taught. However, those applying for the programmes in English will also be required to prove an excellent command of English by submitting an appropriate language certificate. Holders of such international certificates as FCE (with grades A or B), CAE, CPE, TOEFL, or IGCSE meet the requirement. Also those who completed secondary school education where subjects were taught in English will be considered suitable candidates.
