Graduate qualifications
Upon completing the study programmes, graduates of the Faculty of Choir Conducting and Music Education obtain the following qualifications:
Conducting
1st degree (BA/ B.Mus.-equivalent) studies
The graduate exhibits ample theoretical and practical knowledge, and possesses skills in conducting symphonic and chamber orchestras, and various vocal-instrumental ensembles. The graduate is prepared to pursue music activities in cultural institutions and the media propagating musical culture in the society. Upon completing the Music Pedagogy Programme, pursuant to the standards of teacher training, the graduate is professionally prepared to pursue a teaching career. The graduate has mastered a foreign language at the B2 level (in compliance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The graduate is prepared to further their education at the 2nd degree level of studies.
Artistic Education in Music
1st degree (BA/ B.Mus.-equivalent) studies
The graduate exhibits the skills of a professionally trained musician or teacher-instructor in music education and organization of music events, and ample theoretical and practical knowledge to conduct pedagogical activities and music classes in 1st degree music schools; pedagogical activities and classes in the field of school artistic education in educational institutions representing the levels of pre-school to lower secondary school (Polish: gimnazjum); classes in general music education in pre-schools and after-school activity centres; classes in eurhythmics in 1st degree music schools; activities with vocal, instrumental and vocal-instrumental ensembles in 1st degree music schools and amateur music institutions; music activities in various cultural institutions propagating musical culture in the society. Upon completing the Music Pedagogy Programme, pursuant to the standards of teacher training, the graduate is qualified to pursue a teaching career. 2nd degree (MA/ M.Mus.-equivalent) studies
The graduate possesses skills in directing various types of performing groups, exhibits creative initiative and the ability of decision-making, and ample knowledge of basic legislature concerning music undertakings. Depending on the pursued field of specialization, the graduate possesses theoretical and practical knowledge to conduct pedagogical activities and music classes in 2nd degree music schools; pedagogical activities and classes in the field of school artistic education in educational institutions representing the levels of pre-school to secondary school (Polish: liceum); classes in eurhythmics in 2nd degree music schools; activities with vocal, instrumental and vocal-instrumental ensembles in 2nd degree music schools and amateur music institutions. The graduate is able to direct professional vocal, instrumental and vocal-instrumental as well as church music ensembles. The graduate is prepared to pursue various activities connected with organizing, also in the media, music festivals, competitions and events, as well as music activities in cultural institutions propagating musical culture in the society. Upon completing the Music Pedagogy Programme, pursuant to the standards of teacher training, the graduate is qualified to pursue a teaching career. The graduate is prepared to further their education at the 3rd (doctoral) degree level of studies.
